Caregiver Part Time

Seeking a compassionate, patient, dependable, and responsible in-home caregiver to assist with the daily care of an elderly woman with significant mobility limitations who requires full assistance with transfers and activities of daily living. This is a hands-on caregiving position that includes personal care, toileting, meal assistance, basic health monitoring, gentle mobility exercises, light housekeeping, and companionship. Above all, we are looking for someone who will treat the care recipient with dignity, patience, respect, and genuine kindness. Reliability and compassion are extremely important to our family.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with the morning routine, including getting the care recipient out of bed and comfortably situated for the day.
• Safely assist with transfers between the bed, bedside commode, power recliner/wheelchair, and other appropriate areas of the home.
• Use a Hoyer lift or other available transfer equipment when appropriate.
• Assist with personal hygiene, including face washing, grooming, hand care, changing clothing when necessary, and maintaining overall cleanliness and comfort.
• Serve breakfast and lunch. Occasionally, simple items such as cereal or coffee may need to be prepared.
• Provide the care recipient’s daily vitamin/supplement as pre-arranged and instructed by the family.
• Take and record basic vital signs as directed, including blood pressure, heart rate/pulse, oxygen saturation, and temperature when needed, using equipment provided in the home.
• Assist with gentle range-of-motion and mobility activities that have been demonstrated by the family, including gentle hand/palm care and movement of the hands, arms, and shoulders. Movements should never be forced.
• Encourage appropriate activity and engagement rather than remaining sedentary throughout the entire day.
• Provide companionship, conversation, and attentive supervision.
• Assist the care recipient with spending time outdoors on the porch for fresh air and relaxation when appropriate.
• Maintain a simple daily caregiver log documenting meals, fluids, toileting, vital signs, mobility activities, general mood/comfort, and any notable observations or concerns.
• Promptly communicate any significant changes, injuries, falls, skin concerns, unusual symptoms, or other concerns to the designated family member.
• Perform other reasonable caregiving-related duties that are discussed and mutually agreed upon.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
