Job Summary

The Counter Agent is the first point of contact for customers at the rental car counter. This role is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, processing rental transactions, upselling products, and ensuring a smooth and efficient rental experience. The ideal candidate is friendly, customer-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and engage customers in a friendly, professional manner and assist with vehicle rentals and returns
• Process rental agreements, payments, and reservations accurately and efficiently using company systems
• Explain rental terms, insurance options, and additional products (GPS, child seats, fuel plans, upgrades)
• Upsell services and vehicle upgrades to meet customer needs and company goals
• Verify customer identification, driver’s licenses, and payment methods
• Resolve customer questions, concerns, and complaints efficiently and courteously
• Coordinate with washyard staff to ensure vehicle availability and readiness
• Maintain accurate records and comply with company policies and procedures
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and daily counter reconciliation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional counter area

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Previous customer service, sales, or hospitality experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn rental software systems
• Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to meet or exceed targets
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Valid driver’s license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
