Montessori Teacher Assistant Full Time

• 1 Toddler Classroom Assistant (Ages 15 months – 3 years)

What You’ll Do

As a Montessori Assistant, you will partner with the Lead Teacher to cultivate a calm, joyful, and productive learning environment. Your main responsibilities include:

• Preparing the Environment: Maintain the classroom, outdoor areas, and materials according to Montessori principles of beauty, order, and simplicity. This includes daily setup, light cleaning, and organizing materials.
• Supporting Students & the Lead Teacher: Work with individual children or small groups, help manage daily transitions (lunch, recess, nap), and model respectful behavior.
• Physical Care (Primary Role): Assist younger children with their physical needs, including bathroom use and changing clothes when necessary.
• Professional Growth: Observe student behavior, collaborate with the Lead Teacher, and actively participate in professional development and semi-annual evaluations.

What We Are Looking For

• Education: High school diploma required; two years of college coursework in education is preferred.
• Experience: Experience working with children and a commitment to thriving in a busy, dynamic school environment.
• Skills: Strong communication skills in English (bilingual in Spanish is a plus). Proficient with basic tech (email/web apps) and foundational math (counting and simple operations).
• Mindset: A professional, reliable, and positive attitude. A deep respect for diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a willingness to learn about Montessori education.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in an environment with a moderate noise level.

Pay: $30,000.00 – $35,000.00 per year
