Information Technology Intern
Spring 2027
The Information Technology Intern will support the IT Department and Jobsite Operations teams by providing hands-on technical support to users across J. Benton Construction. This role will function as a Helpdesk Technician while gaining exposure to IT operations in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Serve as a Helpdesk Technician, supporting users with technical issues and IT requests.
- After onboarding, manage approximately 5-10% of weekly IT tickets, with appropriate escalation as needed.
- Provide responsive, professional customer service and technical support.
- Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Assist with hardware/software setup, maintenance, and Autopilot device provisioning.
- Visit office and jobsite locations to provide IT support and gain field experience.
- Assist with IT equipment inventory across USVI locations.
- Document issues and resolutions and support IT security and operational processes.
- Develop the ability to independently troubleshoot, provision devices, manage tickets, and escalate incidents by the end of the internship.

Required Experience
- Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computing Systems, Computer Systems Analysis, or a related field.
- Previous work experience required; prior IT experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, IT infrastructure, and networking concepts.
- Familiarity with Active Directory and IT ticketing systems preferred.
- Commitment to confidentiality and IT security best practices.
