Sandy Point is a new beach bar and gathering spot taking shape on the west end of St. Croix in Frederiksted. It’s being built in the spirit of the U.S. Virgin Islands’ most iconic beachfront hangouts, the kind of place where a cold drink, a sunset, and good people turn a Tuesday into an event. Think of the energy of Maho Crossroads on St. John: laid-back by day, lively by night, with live music, standout cocktails, a strong local following, and a following of visitors who plan their trip around it. Sandy Point aims to become that landmark for St. Croix’s west end, a bar and social destination anchored by great food, great drinks, and an unmistakable sense of place.

This is a ground-floor opportunity for a hands-on operator who wants real ownership over how a new hospitality brand is built, staffed, and run from day one.

POSITION SUMMARY

The General Manager is the on-site leader responsible for the day-to-day success of Sandy Point — operations, staffing, guest experience, financial performance, and brand execution. This person will set the tone for the venue, build and lead the team, and work closely with ownership to grow Sandy Point into a premier beach bar destination on St. Croix. The ideal candidate is equal parts operator, host, and coach: comfortable behind the numbers, in front of guests, and on the floor with staff during a packed Friday sunset rush.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operations: Own daily operations across the bar, food service, and beach/venue areas — opening and closing procedures, staffing coverage, cash handling, and vendor coordination.
• Team Leadership: Train, schedule, and manage bartenders, servers, kitchen staff, security, and beach attendants; build a service culture that keeps staff and guests coming back.
• Guest Experience: Set the tone on the floor — greet regulars, resolve guest issues in the moment, and make sure every visitor leaves with a story worth telling friends.
• Purchasing & Inventory: Build and manage relationships with liquor, food, and beverage vendors; negotiate pricing and manage ordering to control waste and stockouts.
• Compliance & Licensing: Ensure compliance with USVI health, safety, liquor licensing, and labor regulations; maintain required permits and certifications for the property.
• Facilities: Maintain the physical condition of the bar, seating areas, and beach frontage; coordinate maintenance and repairs with outside contractors as needed.
• Reporting: Provide ownership with regular updates on sales, labor, guest feedback, and operational issues; flag risks and opportunities early.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of experience managing a bar, restaurant, or hospitality venue, ideally in a beach, resort, or tourism-driven market.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and retain a front-of-house and/or bar team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Working knowledge of P&L management, labor cost control, and inventory/COGS management.
• Familiarity with USVI (or comparable Caribbean/island market) licensing, labor, and health code requirements is a strong plus.
• A genuine love of hospitality — someone who wants to be on the floor, not just in the office.
• Comfortable working nights, weekends, and holidays, and adjusting hours around events and peak tourist season.
• Basic proficiency with POS systems, scheduling software, and standard office tools (email, spreadsheets).
• Reliable transportation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand and move for extended periods, work outdoors in island heat and weather, lift up to 40 lbs (kegs, cases, supplies), and work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
