Job Summary:
Tysam Tech is seeking an Environmental Engineer I to support engineering, design, permitting, construction oversight, and operational oversight for public and private sector clients. The position will evaluate site assessment data, support engineering solutions, and assist with design and remediation projects.

This position is based in St. Croix or St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Candidates interested in relocating to the USVI are encouraged to apply.

Relocation and Work Authorization:
Relocation assistance is available for qualifying candidates already residing in the United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect samples from hazardous and non-hazardous sites, including soil, air, surface water, groundwater, and landfill gas.
• Oversee drilling activities involving, monitoring and well installation, borehole logging, well development, and sampling.
• Conduct and document construction quality assurance observations to ensure compliance with construction documents.
• Complete quality control reviews on all work product (reports, design plans, design calculations, data, etc.) prior to submission.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and clients as directed.
• Coordinate with CAD drafters for design plans/figures or uses AutoCAD for basic design plans/ figures.
• Prepare permit applications and/or regulatory agency submittals and responses with supporting documentation as requested.
• Prepare calculations for reports and in support of design documents as requested.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering or similar engineering degree
• 1-4 years of experience working in the environmental field. Experience in environmental consulting is preferred.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred
• Valid Drivers License with a driving record in good standing required.

Travel:

• 25% travel

Compensation & Benefits:

• $85-$105K: Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
