Certified Nurse Midwife Full Time NEW

Position Summary:

The Certified Nurse Midwife’s main duty is to assist women in all stages of pregnancy, childbirth and post-delivery. They also work closely with obstetricians and gynecologists in diagnosing and treating women with acute and chronic illnesses.The ideal candidate must be able to work well within a team and have excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen to patients with empathy and understanding. This person assumes responsibility and accountability for the duties of the position and is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives, and policies of the Schneider Regional Medical Center and their respective Department.

Hazards & Physical Requirements:Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours a day, walk up to 4 hours a day, and sit for up to 4 hours a day. Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs and lift/carry up to 20 lbs on an occasional basis. Is aware of risk of exposure to communicable diseases; blood and/or body fluids.

Education & Experience:Must have graduated from an accredited school with a Masters of Science in Nursing, specializing in midwifery ; Must have a current VI APRN license, 3 years experience in midwifery preferred.

Specific Requirements:Current AHA BLS and NRP required. Must be knowledgeable and comfortable working with computers.

Base Salary Range: $115,000 to $140,000
