The MEP Superintendent is responsible for providing direct in-field supervision to the crews working on all phases of the MEP construction. This position is based in St. Thomas, USVI and projected to start in December 2026.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor the installation and the startup of MEP systems
- Assist with developing detailed schedules for all MEP installation activities, including cost and resource loading
- Review and approve material and equipment for MEP systems prior to installation
- Direct responsibility to coordinate all MEP construction activities
- Interact with Project Managers and other Engineers to complete various items of self-performed work as well as any subcontractor
- Oversee field personnel, daily/weekly/monthly schedules, and overall operations
- Coordinate crews and equipment to maximize production and efficiency
- Select, train, motivate, and evaluate assigned personnel; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies
- Comply with and effectively implement the company’s Safety Program to ensure safety and environmental standards are met or exceeded
- Assist in ensuring project construction is completed in compliance with the construction schedule, control budget, and contract documents
- Ensure execution of the work in accordance with contract documents, subcontracts/agreement, plans, specifications and shop drawings including management and execution of changes to work
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidate must have at least 10 years of experience performing the duties described above
- Thorough knowledge of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems
- General understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes, and Plumbing Codes related to the construction of a project
- Has a proven track record as a MEP Superintendent on large commercial projects
- Able to read and understand design drawings and schematics
- Experience working on large projects where no MEP structure existed prior
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is a must
