Electrical Engineer – II Full Time NEW

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer II to support the design, analysis, and execution of electrical engineering projects. The successful candidate will contribute to all phases of project development, including conceptual design, detailed engineering, construction support, commissioning, and troubleshooting. This role requires strong technical skills, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Experience with renewable energy systems, microgrids, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and industrial controls is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

· Design and develop electrical power distribution systems for industrial, commercial, utility, and infrastructure projects.

· Prepare electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.

· Perform load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, and equipment sizing calculations.

· Develop one-line diagrams, equipment layouts, panel schedules, and construction packages.

· Coordinate with mechanical, civil, structural, and controls disciplines.

· Support field investigations, site visits, equipment inspections, and commissioning activities.

· Review contractor submittals, requests for information (RFIs), and installation practices.

· Assist with project budgeting, scheduling, and technical execution.

· Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements.

· Troubleshoot electrical system issues and provide practical engineering solutions.

· Support client meetings and contribute to project presentations.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.

· Five to ten years of relevant electrical engineering experience.

· Working knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power systems, motor control systems, protective devices and coordination, industrial power distribution, electrical construction practices, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).

· Experience preparing engineering calculations and construction documents.

· Proficiency with AutoCAD (MEP and Electrical), Microsoft Office, and power system analysis software such as SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or an equivalent platform. Experience with Autodesk Revit is highly desirable.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

· Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.

· Experience in industrial facilities, power generation, utilities, water/wastewater, manufacturing, or heavy construction environments.

· Experience with arc-flash studies and protective device coordination.

· Experience with commissioning and startup support.

· Project management experience and experience working directly with clients and contractors.

· Familiarity with microgrid design, operation, and integration.

· Familiarity with solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including system design and interconnection requirements.

· Familiarity with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and associated power conversion equipment.

· Familiarity with industrial control systems, SCADA, PLC-based control systems, and automation architectures.

· Experience integrating distributed energy resources into utility or industrial power systems.

Pay: $76,500.00 – $99,800.00 per year
