Limited Scope X-Ray Technician & Medical Assistant Full Time

Responsibilities

X-Ray Technician Duties

· Prepare patients for radiologic procedures by explaining examinations, providing instructions, and positioning patients appropriately.

· Escort patients to dressing and imaging areas while ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety throughout the visit.

· Operate radiologic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images in accordance with established standards and regulatory requirements.

· Adjust equipment settings and positioning to obtain optimal imaging results while minimizing radiation exposure.

· Utilize radiation safety measures and protective devices to ensure the safety of patients, providers, and staff.

· Monitor radiology equipment performance and report any malfunctions or maintenance concerns to leadership.

· Ensure radiology workflows are completed accurately and that imaging documentation is properly entered into the electronic medical record (EMR).

· Complete all required documentation related to imaging services.

· Perform routine quality assurance, calibration, and maintenance activities on radiology equipment in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.

Medical Support Specialist Duties

· Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information as appropriate.

· Administer vaccines and injections as ordered by the treating clinician and within scope of practice.

· Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens as directed.

· Conduct point-of-care testing, including rapid screening tests such as influenza, strep, glucose, and other approved diagnostic tests.

· Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments.

· Perform routine clinical procedures as directed by the treating clinician.

· Prepare treatment rooms and assist with clinical procedure setup.

· Apply bandages, wound dressings, splints, and other supportive devices as ordered.

· Dispense medications, supplies, and durable medical equipment (DME) according to provider orders and applicable regulations.

· Maintain examination rooms, treatment areas, and medical equipment to ensure cleanliness, safety, and readiness for patient care.

· Perform quality assurance activities related to clinical equipment and testing procedures.

· Monitor medical equipment functionality and promptly report maintenance or supply concerns.

· Assist with patient flow, scheduling support, and communication regarding wait times.

· Accurately document patient care and maintain complete medical records.

· Support front office operations as needed, including patient check-in/check-out, insurance verification, answering phones, and scheduling appointments.

· Follow all HIPAA, privacy, infection control, and safety protocols.

· Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and ongoing clinical competency development.

· Maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming environment throughout the facility.

Qualifications

Education

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Certifications/Licenses

· Completion of approved Limited Scope X-Ray Technician program and current licensure/certification as required by state regulations.

· Current CPR and First Aid certification.

Experience

· Minimum of six (6) months of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical support role preferred.

· Minimum of six (6) months of demonstrated X-ray experience preferred.

· Experience in a physician practice, urgent care, outpatient clinic, or healthcare setting preferred.

· Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.

Pay: $23.00 – $26.00 per hour
